As part of the DATA4ALL project, weekly sessions have been set up where the team, spanning data scientists, legal scholars and computer scientists, explore data-driven technologies in the context of asylum decision-making. The sessions are an equally important space for enquiring into the data that exists and ‘missing data’, data that are not currently being collected because of e.g. bias, lack of social and political will. This blog post looks into what ‘data’ means for the interdisciplinary team of researchers working in DATA4ALL and how this interrelates with the overall aims of ensuring a responsible approach to the research conducted by the team.
