Mapping the Danish asylum procedure, Author: Anna Høgenhaug
While contracting states to the 1951 Refugee Convention base their legal frameworks nationally on the same definition of the refugee, the asylum determination process diverges significantly between countries. This blog post gives a meticulous overview of the Danish asylum procedure using the online visual platform MIRO. The overview tracks the different trajectories of amongst others the manifestly unfounded procedure and the Dublin procedure. The mapping is an important first step towards being able to compare the Danish asylum procedure with Nordic procedures (Norwegian and Swedish), to uncover similarities and disparities between these three countries.
